One question a week · Fifty-two stories · One book
While we are in beta
Longtold is free while it is being built. When that changes you will be asked, not charged.
What that means
Right now
Start a year for your storyteller, send the questions, get the stories. There is no card to enter and no trial counting down in the background.
When that changes
Nobody is moved onto a paid plan on our say-so. We will write to you first, and nothing happens unless you say yes.
What you are joining
Things move around, and now and then something is rough. There is a button on every page to tell us when you find one. Free is our way of saying thanks for putting up with it.
The plans are worked out. Only the prices are not, so here is a preview of how they will work.
Month to month
The questions, the stories, the whole thing, for as long as your family wants it. Stop whenever you like, and every story already told stays yours.
A year at once
The same year paid in one go, with the printed hardcover included at the end of it. If you are giving it to somebody, this is the one.
While Longtold is free, the hardcover still has to be printed and posted, so a beta family buys theirs when the year ends.
Before you start
No. Nothing is charged without you picking a plan first, and there is no card on file to charge. If you would rather not carry on when beta ends, you stop and keep every story your family has already told.
Whoever starts the year. Usually that is a son or daughter setting it up for the storyteller. The storyteller never pays, and neither does anybody on the reading list.
Questions wait. A gentle nudge goes out, the pace is theirs to set, and the year can be paused from Settings. A book of thirty stories is still a book your family will fight over.
The book gets printed, and the choice is yours: wrap it there, or start a second volume with the same storyteller or a different one.
A few people have asked how to help while it is free. There is no need, and nothing changes if you do.
What it goes toward
Choose an amount
Handled by Stripe. Your card details never reach Longtold, and nothing is stored on our side but the amount and the date.
Pick your storyteller, choose who gets the stories, and the first question goes out this week.
